“All were baptized into Stewart Traill. In every sense of the word: his teaching, his concepts, his view on life, his skepticism of other Christians. Go and learn what this means”.
Blessed is he and blessed is she who is able to get free from the grip of Stewart Traill and the Church of Bible Understanding, and those who are able to overcome his lies and curses will have a great reward.
THE CURSES OF STEWART TRAILL
HE CURSED MARRIAGE
DID NOT CREATE AN ATMOSPHERE FOR MARRIAGE
MOCKED AND RIDICULED THE SHEEP. He told us that we should not do that to one another
TAUGHT FEAR instead of faith.
Taught WAR INSTEAD OF PEACE
SAID WE WERE LAZY
SAID THAT WE SAW GOD WITH A STICK IN HIS HAND
"THE BROTHERS ARE TOO WEAK TO GET MARRIED"
"MARRIAGE IS NOT FOR LITTLE BOYS BUT FOR MEN WHO KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING."
WE ARE THE ONLY TRUE CHURCH
WE HAD A CORNER ON TRUE INTERPRETATION OF THE BIBLE
"GOD IS ANGRY WITH YOU."
"IF YOU LEAVE THE FELLOWSHIP YOU WILL BACKSLIDE FROM JESUS."
COBU claimed to be a safe land, while it caused the sisters to be homeless from 515, and they were blamed for this situation.
STEVE WAS FILLED WITH SUSPICIOUS DOUBT
Taught suspicious doubt.
TOOK THE PLACE OF JESUS AND GLORIFIED HIMSELF INSTEAD OF THE SAVIOR WHO PAID THE PRICE
He trusted in psychology and cheap tricks
Made much of the figure system instead of Jesus Christ
Caused us to be alienated from our parents and close kin
For one, he set brother against brother, and sister against sister.
He set brothers against sisters, and vice versa.
Made God out to be mean and vindictive
Taught that forgiveness of sins was not complete
He played favorites
He had brethren live like poor people while he lived high on the hog.
Made brethren doubt their salvation
Worked us like slaves.
Mocked anyone who disagreed with him
Separated himself from other believers
Didn't live up to the standards he preached at others
Turned aside honest complaints
Did not teach the basics of Christianity
Taught the brethren that we were better than other churches
All his sins against sisters, including Gayle.
His divorce fiasco
How he stole his children from his first wife
How he let other people beat his children in the name of discipline
Spoke falsehood about the Lord
Coveted his neighbor's wife
He made you doubt yourself and, worse, made you doubt what you saw was right
He made you doubt others' sincerity.
He used a group mentality to crush opposition.
He did not show mercy.
He taught that children were taking sisters away from the work.
He bred dissension.
He used others' sins against them.
He despised unity.
He loved and praticed falsehood.
He did not trust Jesus for the forgiveness of sins.
He said he had all the answers -- in word, deed, and speech.
Traill was not like Christ: Christ was humble.
Traill was a thief and a robber.
He killed hope.
He flaunted his wife in front of the brothers, and mocked them for not being married.
He was a false teacher.
He did not care about you.
He did not feed the sheep bread, but he let them starve. They steal bread from one another.
He starved us of love, peace, patience, faithfulness, and gentleness
TAUGHT THAT MARRIAGE WAS FOR STRONG MEN
HE WAS A GREAT BOASTER
Traill was an empty talker.
He was filled with mischief.
He was a false boaster
He had no patience toward the sheep
Everyone was always in a constant state of guilt in the world of Stewart Traill.
He was a scoffer
He taught that being miserable is suffering for Christ.
He taught that being happy and enjoying anything is indulgence.
He would derogatorily say, "You're into comfort"
He would derogatorily say many negative slights, and put you down openly
He expected all of his whims to be constantly met; for example, he used the church funds to obtain several planes and used church funds to pay for the hangar fees to house his planes, that were very costly and benefited only him
His attitude seemed to be, "You work and pay for my extravagant needs"
We had to beg money to get a new pair of shoes or underwear or any clothing items
We received ten dollars a week allowance plus the cost to get to and from work, and lived in shabby apartments in bad neighborhoods
He used church funds to obtain the nicest property in Princeton, NJ, which had a built-in swimming pool and used to be owned, I think, by a senator.
In front of us, he daily went to the fanciest restaurants, and stayed at hotels when visiting the various fellowship houses
He would sometimes meet with certain ones in his hotel room, that had air conditioning, something we didn't have at the fellowship, so that it seemed he was rubbing our nose in the different lifestyle he enjoyed and we didn't.
We were expected not only to turn over our entire pay checks but were also made to sign over our annual IRS Federal and State tax refunds, with no portion of it going to our individual needs
Funds went to the collective expense for food and housing costs. The church bought food in bulk and stored it in a food room that everyone could take from. Housing costs were paid from this collective account.
He had eccentric tastes and would have someone spend hours on the phone trying to locate a certain pair of sneakers that was no longer manufactured and could only be found by calling many shoe stores to see if they had yellow converse low tops with white stars on the sides.
He once wanted a certain width and length and color leather belt and insisted we call many clothing stores and have the clerk locate it, only to say, once it was found, that the cost was too much, and then ask that more stores be called to see if we could find the belt for less money. The cost of the phone calls was more than the savings on the belt. Just one of many examples of his eccentricity.
He could come into a meeting where everyone was enjoying themselves and talking to one another enthusiastically, and he would in a short amount of time be able to make everyone feel bad instantly and would then sit around and suck the life out of the room and had a way to blame all of us for the way it was. This was very oppressive, but her did it frequently.
He made us stay up for hours trying to figure out some obscure thing, when we all had to get up for work the next day, while he could sleep as late as he wanted. For example: when there was a fellowship house in an extremely bad neighborhood, he wanted the younger ones to move into the 515 building temporarily. Those of us who lived there were already crowded, so the ones who came camped out on the floor. No problem, but why did we have to stay up until 3 am pontificating (when we had to get up at 7 am to leave for work by 8 am) just for this one concern?
"It is good to suffer, you have it too easy."
