The Impossibilities

WOULD YOU LIKE A BLESSING?

“All were baptized into Stewart Traill. In every sense of the word: his teaching, his concepts, his view on life, his skepticism of other Christians. Go and learn what this means”.

THE IMPOSSIBILITES OF COBU

On this page we will explore the many and various things that seemed impossible to achieve in Cobu. Have you ever wondered to yourself why it was so hard to do anything right in Cobu? Have you ever wondered to yourself how we worked so hard, yet it seemed like it was impossible to get even a word of thanks or appreciation? Didn't it seem strange, that we seemed to always be doing our best to accomplish all the expectations Stewart Traill made of us, yet we never received a single commendation, but only got another put down?

Well, here is the reason why, for many of us the sins and ills of the dark house of Cobu that called itself a church, all point back to the fact that Stewart Traill was not being a Christan brother who followed the bible nor did he follow the Lord Jesus Christ at all! Jesus would never do the things that this man has done. In fact, if one truly searches the New Testament of the Bible and made comparisons between Jesus' ministry and the way that Traill conducted himself among us, the differences are blaringly obvious.

Jesus had compassion. Jesus healed the sick, which meant that he actually cared enough to speak to those who were suffering. Jesus was a good shepherd. Jesus was kind to his disciples, he calmed the waters, he strengthened the weak, he didn't oppress, mock, scoff at, and constantly ridicule, as Stewart Traill always seemed bent on doing. In fact, even the Apostles, those who were closest to Jesus, addressed the believers with affection and appreciation, with words of thankfulness and kindness, throughout the gospels, the letters, and the Act's of the Apostles; yet Stewart Traill was NEVER known to address the brothers and sisters in the way that those who were closest to Jesus, and most able to follow his example did.

Cobu had and has nothing to do with Christ. If you can accept this fact, then you are half way through the process of being able to see that was impossible to even walk by faith in Cobu. Any scripture references used on this page are in blue type and the RSV (Revised Standard Version of the Bible) was used primarily, although some contributions included the NIV (New International Version ~ which are marked). Below is our list of The Impossibilities of Cobu

It is impossible for Cobu to be shown the Jesus seen in the scripture, because the one Stewart taught was exacting, as compared to the biblical example:

Is 40:11 He will feed his flock like a shepherd, he will gather the lambs in his arms, he will carry them in his bosom, and gently lead those that are with young.

It was impossible to have grace in Cobu, because, as Stewart said, "he missed grace for 25 years ~ God hid "grace" from me" he said, I guess he failed to realize that he was admitting that he never knew Jesus!

Jn 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth (namely: Jesus!)

Rm 4:4 Now to one who works, his wages are not reckoned as a gift but as his due.

It was impossible for the brothers and sisters not to give Stewart Traill "free passes" acting as though "there was absolutely nothing wrong" with him living in luxurious high property-taxed residences that were paid for by the labors of the brethren, where he had a built-in swimming pool and other comforts, while everyone else who financed his empire lived in near poverty, in dangerous neighborhoods!

Eph 5:12 For it is a shame even to speak of the things that they do in secret;
Eph 5:13 but when anything is exposed by the light it becomes visible, for anything that becomes visible is light.

It was impossible not to see that Cobu became a place where the young daughters of the brothers and sisters are sacrificed to the desires of a tyrant.

1Co 6:9-10 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor sexual perverts, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor robbers will inherit the kingdom of God.

It was impossible not to recognize that Stewart Traill ignored the counsel of the scripture when he chose to act indecently toward the innocent, as a married man, while he chastised the single, grown men and women who finance his empire, when they desired to have relationships with one another their own ages!

It was impossible to rejoice in COBU because the righteous did not thrive; we always groaned because the wicked ruled.

(This scripture refers to those who have a place kept for them in heaven, because they "have NOT defiled themselves" while Stewart Traill indulged his lust openly!)

It was impossible to even date in Cobu, so getting married was out of the question, so how could Cobu "train young women to love their husbands" when the only man "allowed to marry in peace" was Stewart Traill!

It was impossible to even date in Cobu, so it was also impossible to "obtain a husband" or even "have children" therefore much of the scriptures about marriage were also unrealized or put to any use.

Tit 2:4 and so train the young women to love their husbands and children.

(How could you "train the young women to love their husbands" if they weren't even allowed to date!?)

(How could you "train the young women to love their children" if they were never encouraged to marry in order to have any children!?)

It is impossible for Cobu to see their pastor as he truly is: a hireling, an oppressor, a thief, a con man, a robber of cradles.

Mal 3:5 "Then I will draw near to you for judgment; I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, against the adulterers, against those who swear falsely, against those who oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow and the orphan, against those who thrust aside the sojourner, and do not fear me, says the LORD of hosts.
Jn 10:12, 13 He who is a hireling and not a shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. He flees because he is a hireling and cares nothing for the sheep.

It was impossible to get rid of your guilt in Cobu, even though we weren't doing anything that we were guilty for.

Mt 12:7 And if you had known what this means, 'I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,' you would not have condemned the guiltless.
Job 11:6 Know then that God exacts of you less than your guilt deserves.

It was impossible in Cobu not to "feel guilty" as Stephen Kaung said, "then somebody took the place of Christ and then when that happened, you know it always went astray, that guilty feeling is always there. He will teach something that is extra-spiritual or scriptural and the result you find is: instead of real spiritual, it is a kind of pseudo-spiritual. If you would like to read more of the counsel given by Stephen Kaung (Just click here).

Rm 14:23 But he who has doubts is condemned, if he eats, because he does not act from faith; for whatever does not proceed from faith is sin.

It was impossible to sit through a meeting without feeling hopeless.

Jer 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

It was impossible to love in Cobu.

It was impossible to know the love of God, when we lived in the fear of Traill.

1Jn 4:18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and he who fears is not perfected in love.
Ps 26:3 For thy steadfast love is before my eyes, and I walk in faithfulness to thee.

It was impossible to have a sense of the steadfastness love of God in Cobu, because Stewart was always robbing us of peace.

It is impossible for "The Church of Unwanted Hearts" (a/k/a Cobu) to be healed.

Jn 12:40 "He has blinded their eyes and hardened their heart, lest they should see with their eyes and perceive with their heart, and turn for me to heal them."

It is impossible for Cobu to be able to rejoice.

1Ch 16:10 Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice!

It is impossible for Cobu to be redeemed.

Ps 107:2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he has redeemed from trouble.

It is impossible for Cobu to be delivered from it's distress.

    Ps 107:6 Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress;

It is impossible for Cobu to be satisfied with good things, when Stewart Traill was so bent on filling us with his lies and oppressions.

Ps 107:9 For he satisfies him who is thirsty, and the hungry he fills with good things.

It is impossible for Cobu to be freed from the obligation of hard labor, because this is the lifestyle of one who has to satisfy all the needs and wants of Stewart Traill.

Ps 107:12 Their hearts were bowed down with hard labor; they fell down, with none to help.
    Ps 107:13 Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress;

It is impossible for Cobu to be freed from their darkness and gloom, because this was the actual atmosphere of Stewart Traill's vault of doom and gloom that he led us into.

Ps 107:14 he brought them out of darkness and gloom, and broke their bonds asunder.
Ps 107:15 Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love, for his wonderful works to the sons of men!

It is impossible for Cobu to have any sense of being delivered from the destructive attitudes that Stewart Traill fed us at his oppressive meetings.

Ps 107:20 he sent forth his word, and healed them, and delivered them from destruction.
Ps 107:21 Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love, for his wonderful works to the sons of men!

It is impossible for Cobu to actually know joy, because Stewart Traill stripped it from us.

Ps 107:22 And let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving, and tell of his deeds in songs of joy!

It is impossible for Cobu to be lifted up out of the overwhelming feelings of being needy, and inability to have happy families.

Ps 107:41 but he raises up the needy out of affliction, and makes their families like flocks.
Ps 107:42 The upright see it and are glad; and all wickedness stops its mouth.

It is impossible for Cobu to be set free from the course of "wickedness" that has become it's daily bread.

Ps 107:34 a fruitful land into a salty waste, because of the wickedness of its inhabitants.
Ps 107:35 He turns a desert into pools of water, a parched land into springs of water.

It is impossible for Cobu to be corrected.

Is 1:16 Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean; remove the evil of your doings from before my eyes; cease to do evil,
Is 1:17 learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; defend the fatherless, plead for the widow.

It is impossible for Cobu to be taught new things.

Is 42:7 to open the eyes that are blind, to bring out the prisoners from the dungeon, from the prison those who sit in darkness.

It is impossible for Cobu to be restored.

Lam 5:21 Restore us to thyself, O LORD, that we may be restored! Renew our days as of old!

Heb 6:4-6 For it is impossible to restore again to repentance those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, if they then commit apostasy, since they crucify the Son of God on their own account and hold him up to contempt.

It is impossible for Cobu to be restored to a place of faith, instead of the world of doubt that Stewart led us to.

Heb 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please him. For whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

It was impossible to have Stewart's approval.

Rm 14:4 Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master that he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for the Master is able to make him stand.

(It was sad that while in Cobu we desired Stewart Traill's approval more than being able to trust in the approval of God, as granted to us by the scriptures.)

It was impossible to please Jesus in Cobu.

Jn 6:29 Jesus answered them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent."

(According to scripture this was all that was expected of us, that WE simply BELIEVE in Jesus and trust in his love for us. It was Stewart Traill who made unreasonable expectations and told us that unless we accomplished them "we weren't faithful" ~ this is false religion.)

It was impossible to get married in Cobu.

Rm 14:23 ... for whatever does not proceed from faith is sin.

(Stewart Traill convinced the brothers and sisters that "we weren't good enough" to date or get married, so we didn't have any faith to even try to have relationships. Stewart's unreasonable and unscriptural "expectations" caused us to "feel like we were sinning" for our natural interests, while he "got everyone" to turn a blind eye to his adulterous ways.)

It was impossible to learn what a right marriage is in Cobu.

(Stewart Traill was not interested in having anyone else have a sense of having a "right marriage" ~ but how could a man teaching "false religion" teach anyone what's right!?)

It was impossible to be healed in Cobu.

(Stewart Traill's brand of "acceptable lifestyle" that we lived in was so twisted that many lived in a constant state of believing "I'm not good enough" this mindset made everyone "feel sick" even though nothing was wrong with us physically.)

It was impossible to not to be baptized into Stewart Traill.

Mt 6:24 "No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.

Lk 16:13 No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon."

It was impossible to glean anything positive from the long winded hums, haws, and criticisms ("Are you all just bored?" "Is everyone paying attention (to me)?" "Are you all falling asleep?") that Stewart Traill tried to pass off as "bible studies" when they were really just more "work overs" for we who learned to "take a licking and keep on ticking" long ago!

It was impossible for Stewart Traill to be gentle.

Gal 5:17 For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh; for these are opposed to each other, to prevent you from doing what you would.
Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is ...gentleness,

(Stewart Traill did not portray the gifts of the Holy Spirit of God because HE was living according the his flesh and not the Holy Spirit of God.)

It was impossible for Stewart Traill to be polite.

It was impossible for Stewart Traill to be kind.

Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is... kindness,

It was impossible for Stewart Traill to be friendly.

Job 6:14 "He who withholds kindness from a friend forsakes the fear of the Almighty.

It was impossible for Stewart Traill to be generous.

    Ps 37:21 The wicked borrows, and cannot pay back, but the righteous is generous and gives;

(Stewart Traill reflects the behavior of the wicked more than the behavior of the righteous.)

It was impossible for Stewart Traill to be considerate.

    Ps 41:1 Blessed is he who considers the poor! The LORD delivers him in the day of trouble;

It was impossible for Stewart Traill to be quick to hear.

    Eze 12:2 "Son of man, you dwell in the midst of a rebellious house, who have eyes to see, but see not, who have ears to hear, but hear not;

(Stewart Traill wasn't interested in our concerns and in fact mocked them.)

It was impossible to trust that your secrets would be kept in Cobu.

Pro 11:13 He who goes about as a talebearer reveals secrets, but he who is trustworthy in spirit keeps a thing hidden.

(Stewart Traill took pleasure in making public the things that brothers and sisters confided in him. If one would write him a letter, he'd call his "reply" into the church office and have sisters write it down and "deliver his message" to the brother or sister, so that any "counsel or advise" became public knowledge. He seemed to get off on on doing this.)

It was impossible for the Cobu sisters "to have a wedding song" when Stewart Traill prevented the sisters from even entertaining the idea of dating anyone but him.

Ps 78:63 Fire devoured their young men, and their maidens had no marriage song.

It was impossible to have a sense of sitting in heavenly places.

Eph 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places
Eph 2:6 and raised us up with him, and made us sit with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus

It was impossible to remain "seated in heaven" while we were at the feet of the false prophet Stewart Traill.

Col 3:2 Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.

It was impossible to keep "our minds on heavenly things" when our mentors mind was on earthly things.

It was impossible to keep "our minds on heavenly things" while we were constantly expected to work the business."

It was impossible to keep "our minds on heavenly things" while Stewart Traill was constantly challenging whether or not we were faithful.

It was impossible to keep "our minds on heavenly things" while Stewart Traill was parading around with all the pretty sisters.

It was impossible to keep "our minds on heavenly things" while Stewart Traill was taking the young girls into the dark room.

It was impossible to keep "our minds on heavenly things" while being with Stewart Traill in the dark room.

It was impossible not to keep praying inwardly that Stewart Traill "wouldn't touch me" in the dark room, as one sister recalled.

It was impossible to shake off anxiety when seated at the feet of the harsh task master, Stewart Traill.

It was impossible to be aware of God's work in our personal lives.

Jn 6:29 Jesus answered them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent."
Rm 15:17 In Christ Jesus, then, I have reason to be proud of my work for God.

It was impossible to find fulfillment in the work of God, while committed to the works of the flesh.

It was impossible to walk before God in the light of life in Cobu.

Ps 56:13 For thou hast delivered my soul from death, yea, my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of life.

It was impossible to know our God as compassionate and gracious abounding in steadfast love in Cobu.

Ps 86:15 But thou, O Lord, art a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.

It was impossible to see that our leader was a man without regard for God in Cobu.

Ps 86:14 O God, insolent men have risen up against me; a band of ruthless men seek my life, and they do not set thee before them.

It was impossible to be at rest in Cobu.

Ps 116:7 Return, O my soul, to your rest; for the LORD has dealt bountifully with you.

It was impossible to feel precious in the sight of the Lord even though I felt like I was dying.

Ps 116:15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.

It was impossible to see that our leader was also our slanderer in Cobu.

Lev 19:16 You shall not go up and down as a slanderer among your people, and you shall not stand forth against the life of your neighbor: I am the LORD.

It was impossible to see that our leader was the one who caused our stumbling in Cobu.

Rom 14:13 Then let us no more pass judgment on one another, but rather decide never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother.

It was impossible to see that our leader was arrogantly attacking us in Cobu.

    Ps 35:15 But at my stumbling they gathered in glee, they gathered together against me; cripples whom I knew not slandered me without ceasing;

It was impossible to be transparent before God because we were always naked before the congregation in Cobu.

Eze 18:5 "If a man is righteous and does what is lawful and right--
Eze 18:6 if he ...does not defile his neighbor's wife or approach a woman in her time of impurity,
Eze 18:7 does not oppress any one, but restores to the debtor his pledge, commits no robbery, gives his bread to the hungry and covers the naked with a garment, ...
Eze 18:9 walks in my statutes, and is careful to observe my ordinances--he is righteous, he shall surely live, says the Lord GOD.

It was impossible to not feel the cords of death entangle us and the anguish of peer judgment upon us in Cobu.

    Ps 18:4 The cords of death encompassed me, the torrents of perdition assailed me;
Ps 18:5 the cords of Sheol entangled me, the snares of death confronted me.
Mt 22:15 Then the Pharisees went and took counsel how to entangle him in his talk.

It was impossible to fulfill my vows to God in Cobu.

Num 30:2 When a man vows a vow to the LORD, or swears an oath to bind himself by a pledge, he shall not break his word; he shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth.

It was impossible to just lay down and hope the horror would just vanish in Cobu.

It was impossible to believe that the fellowship was all the flowery things Stewart Traill kept spouting about, while struggling through the day to day grind in Cobu.

It was impossible for Stewart Traill's church to "go around the world" as he promised.

It was impossible that our fellowship "would be the key to the 2nd coming of Jesus" as Stewart Traill proclaimed, when he "missed the 1st coming of Jesus" when he "missed Grace" for 25 years of his misleading deception.

It was impossible that our fellowship "would be lights to the world" as Stewart Traill proclaimed, when he "missed the 1st coming of Jesus" when he "missed Grace" for 25 years of his misleading deception.

It was impossible that our fellowship "had true bible interpretation" as Stewart Traill proclaimed, when he "missed the 1st coming of Jesus" when he "missed Grace" for 25 years of his misleading deception.

It was impossible that our fellowship "understood the figure-system of the bible" as Stewart Traill proclaimed, when he "missed the 1st coming of Jesus" when he "missed Grace" for 25 years of his misleading deception.

It was impossible that our fellowship "had any steps of love" as Stewart Traill proclaimed, when he "missed the 1st coming of Jesus" when he "missed Grace" for 25 years of his misleading deception.

It was impossible that our fellowship "unlocked the deep mysteries of the bible" as Stewart Traill proclaimed, when he "missed the 1st coming of Jesus" when he "missed Grace" for 25 years of his misleading deception.

It was impossible for Cobu to have any posterity (future generations) when there were no new marriages, therefore no new families, and no new little ones.

It was impossible to hear the voice of bridegroom and the voice of the bride in Cobu.

It was impossible to hear the voice of laughter in the solemn assembly of Cobu.

It was impossible to hear the voice of joyful children in the harsh and demanding Cobu.

It was impossible to hear the voice of excitement among those who looked down on everything in Cobu.

It was impossible to rejoice in receiving an engagement ring in Cobu, because that was frowned upon.

It was impossible to rejoice in receiving an engagement ring in Cobu, because that was mocked in Cobu.

It was impossible to rejoice in receiving an engagement ring in Cobu, because that was considered a "fantasy" relationship.

It was impossible to have any of the "normal joys of life" in Cobu!

It was impossible to realize anything "hopeful" in the land of doom and gloom, which was Cobu.

It was impossible not to come to poverty in Cobu, where Stewart Traill grasped and coveted all of our earnings!

It was impossible to keep "our minds on heavenly things" while Stewart Traill berated us.

It was impossible to keep "our minds on heavenly things" while Stewart Traill was raking us over the coals.

It was impossible for the brothers and sisters to consider Stewart Traill's culpability in the downfall of the fellowship, even when he admitted to it himself!

“There are deeply ingrained ideas and feelings running wild in our fellowship, many of them directly or indirectly can be traced back to my error” said Stewart Traill on March 4, 1989, at the "I missed Grace meeting."

It was impossible for the brothers and sisters to consider Stewart Traill's culpability in preventing relationships, even when he admitted to it himself!

It was impossible for the brothers and sisters to consider Stewart Traill's culpability in preventing marriages, even when he admitted to it himself!

It was impossible for the brothers and sisters to consider Stewart Traill's culpability in the downfall of the brothers lives, even when he admitted to it himself!

It was impossible for the brothers and sisters to consider Stewart Traill's culpability in being the bottleneck of the growth of the fellowship, even when he admitted to it himself!

It was impossible for the brothers and sisters to consider Stewart Traill's culpability in getting over on the fellowship, even when he admitted to it himself!

It was impossible for the brothers and sisters not to look at Stewart Traill as a "good ole" boy, even though he wasn't and never will be.

[def. good ole boy - down to earth, easy to talk to, likes to spend time just listening to others, open-minded, never out-right rude to anyone, and always willing to help anyone in need, a hard worker, warm hearted, and considerate of the needs of others above his own needs, wants or desires.]

It was impossible for the brothers and sisters not to look down on Stewart Traill for any reason, while at the exact same time condemning themselves, because he taught us to do that.

Rm 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

It was impossible for the brothers and sisters not to look at Stewart Traill as down to earth, even though he had his eye on the sky and all the things he could get from the backs of others.

It was impossible for the brothers and sisters not to look at Stewart Traill as someone who likes to listen to others, even though he was much more interested in hearing himself speak.

It was impossible for the brothers and sisters not to look at Stewart Traill as a open-minded, even though he constantly illustrated his narrow views.

It was impossible for the brothers and sisters not to look at Stewart Traill as being rude, even though he cut others off continually, accused others of being rude, and was harsh and critical of everyone at one time or another.

It was impossible for the brothers and sisters not to look at Stewart Traill as someone willing to help others, even though he was all about helping himself to all the money we earned.

It was impossible for the brothers and sisters to even recognize that Stewart Traill was a horrible example of godliness or anything close to the way the Apostles conducted themselves toward the believers.

It was impossible for the brothers and sisters to even recognize the contradictions that Stewart Traill's conduct exemplified.

It was impossible for the brothers and sisters to even listen to their own parents, families, and loved ones, when they tried to tell them that Stewart Traill was a thief.

It was impossible for the brothers and sisters to even recognize that they had been deceived out of all the blessings God desired for them through the false teachings of Stewart Traill.

It was impossible for the brothers and sisters to even recognize how completely shafted we were, so that we could break free from the grip of Stewart Traill's influence.

It was impossible for the grown men and women of Cobu to even recognize how utterly bamboozled we were by Stewart Tanner Traill, and unable to even see him for who he was.

[def. bamboozle - to deceive or get the better of (someone) by trickery, flattery, or the like; humbug; hoodwink (often followed by into): They bamboozled us into joining the club.]

It was impossible for the brothers and sisters not to look at Stewart Traill as a hard worker, even though he was all about pushing all of us to hard labor while he slept in everyday.

Pro 18:9 He who is slack in his work is a brother to him who destroys.

(The destroyer is the devil ~ he who is slack in his work is a brother to the devil.)

It was impossible for the brothers and sisters not to look at Stewart Traill as warm hearted, even though he was as cold as ice, cruel and exacting, too bad we were blinded to his vile nature.

It was impossible for the brothers and sisters not to look at Stewart Traill as being considerate of the needs of others, even though he actually only had his own needs and interests at heart, as shown by what he did with all the money.

(If you want to know what a person is really all about, in the world they suggest: Just follow the money! Or, as someone once said, "He's all about the Benjamin's!" or the bills with Benjamin Franklin's likeness: the hundred dollar bills.)

Pro 20:11 Even a child makes himself known by his acts, whether what he does is pure and right.

(Unfortunately the average brother and sister was so completely taken in by Stewart Traill's scam, that we were unable to hear anyone else's counsel, nor were we able to "move out" of his "well oiled" machine.

Stewart Traill also made it practically impossible for the young brothers and sisters to visit their families without feeling like we were doing something wrong, but the real reason why he discouraged it, was because he didn't want any of us to be removed from his workhouse.

Stewart Traill exacted complete servitude from the brothers and sisters, while his "job" was to keep all of us committed to making money and turning it over to "the church" which actually meant him, because he had complete control over it.

Oh, and if anyone did "break free from the group" Stewart convinced all of us that "they were bitter" and none of us should "listen to anything they have to say" which was another way he controlled us.)

It was impossible for the brothers and sisters not to look at Stewart Traill as a brother, even though he was a brother to none, and took pleasure being insulting to everyone.

Mt 5:22 But I say to you that every one who is angry with his brother shall be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother shall be liable to the council, and whoever says, 'You fool!' shall be liable to the hell of fire.

(When Stewart Traill bragged about "how easy it was for him to get over on all of us" wasn't that him calling us fools!)

It was impossible for the brothers and sisters to see Stewart Traill for who he truly was.

It was impossible not to be like one who binds a stone in a sling because we gave honor to a fool.

Pro 26:8 Like one who binds the stone in the sling is he who gives honor to a fool.

It was impossible for us to not play the fool, because we gave honor to a fool.

It was impossible not to be like dogs returning to our vomit every week we went to the Diplomat meeting and had to suffer under Stewart Traill's injustices, and a poor replacement for the blessings of God!

Pro 26:11 Like a dog that returns to his vomit is a fool that repeats his folly.

It was impossible not to be like the lazy man who is wise in his own eyes, than seven men who don't need a heavy shepherd.

Pro 26:16 The sluggard is wiser in his own eyes than seven men who can answer discreetly.

It was impossible for Stewart Traill to recognize those who answered discreetly.

It was impossible to end the strife because the talebearer was always in our ear.

Pro 26:20 For lack of wood the fire goes out; and where there is no whisperer, quarreling ceases.

It was impossible to end the strife because the contentious man was always there to kindle more.

Pro 26:21 As charcoal to hot embers and wood to fire, so is a quarrelsome man for kindling strife.

It was impossible not to be just like our leader because his words are like tasty trifles, and they went down deep in our innermost body.

Pro 26:22 The words of a whisperer are like delicious morsels; they go down into the inner parts of the body.

It was impossible not to see Stewart as fervent but fervent lips with a wicked heart are like earthenware covered with silver dross.

Pro 26:23 Like the glaze covering an earthen vessel are smooth lips with an evil heart.

It was impossible not be just like our leader; he who hates, disguises it with his lips, and lays up deceit within himself.

    Pro 26:24 He who hates, dissembles with his lips and harbors deceit in his heart;

It was impossible for the brothers and sisters to recognize that Stewart was a grumbler, complainer, walking according to his own lusts and he mouthed great swelling words, flattering people to gain advantage; which he did.

Jud 1:16 These are grumblers, malcontents, following their own passions, loud-mouthed boasters, flattering people to gain advantage.

It was impossible for the brothers and sisters to call an ace an ace in Stewart Traill.

It was impossible for the brothers and sisters not to give Stewart Traill "free passes" because he was the one printing them up!

It was impossible for the brothers and sisters not to give Stewart Traill "free passes" because in the eyes of the brethren Stewart Traill could do no wrong!

It was impossible for the brothers and sisters not to give Stewart Traill "free passes" because there was absolutely "nothing wrong" with him spending all the money we earned!

It was impossible for the brothers and sisters not to give Stewart Traill "free passes" because there was absolutely "nothing wrong" with him flying off to Cleveland with his secretary and using only one hotel room, while his wife was left home to tend his 5 children!

It was impossible for the brothers and sisters not to give Stewart Traill "free passes" because there was absolutely "nothing wrong" with him putting a sister that he desired up in her own apartment where he could visit her at his convenience!

It was impossible for the brothers and sisters not to give Stewart Traill "free passes" because there was absolutely "nothing wrong" with him creeping into the sisters bedrooms at night!

It was impossible for the brothers and sisters not to give Stewart Traill "free passes" because there was absolutely "nothing wrong" with him having a private access door made so that he could have easy access to the bedroom of single sisters who lived in his house.

    Eph 5:12 For it is a shame even to speak of the things that they do in secret;

It was impossible for Stewart to have to face the brothers fellowship about the complete lack of balance in his living accommodations as compared to ours.

Lev 19:13 "You shall not oppress your neighbor or rob him. The wages of a hired servant shall not remain with you all night until the morning.
    Jer 22:13 "Woe to him who builds his house by unrighteousness, and his upper rooms by injustice; who makes his neighbor serve him for nothing, and does not give him his wages;
    Pro 16:11 A just balance and scales are the LORD's;

It was impossible for Stewart Traill to allow the brothers fellowship to have meetings at his Princeton residence, because he said, "It wasn't appropriate" which was code for: I don't want them to see my great digs that I'm living in at their expense!

It was impossible in Cobu not to have Stewart and Gayle be condescending and make suggestions that we "were into some wrong thought or behavior" as they pooh-poohed us and got us to deny our own concerns and to "go back to the work" while they lived in luxury, had luxurious clothing, could fly off to the Bahama's, spend their days on the beach, took photo's of themselves lounging on the beaches, and had us watch their "slide-shows" while we lived in roach and rat infested buildings and gave them all of our money "because they were faithful" and we were their slaves ~ which was completely unfounded scripturally, but Stewart Traill had us completely fooled into accepting everything that he said.

Lev 19:13 "You shall not oppress your neighbor or rob him. The wages of a hired servant shall not remain with you all night until the morning.
    Jer 22:13 "Woe to him who builds his house by unrighteousness, and his upper rooms by injustice; who makes his neighbor serve him for nothing, and does not give him his wages;
    Pro 16:11 A just balance and scales are the LORD's;

(Yes! We quoted these scriptures twice! That's so they are remembered and considered!

  • ~ No! It was NOT Okay for Stewart Traill to oppress us!
  • ~ No! It was NOT Okay for Stewart Traill to rob us!
  • ~ No! It was NOT Okay for Stewart Traill to take our wages!
  • ~ No! It was NOT Okay for Stewart Traill to expect all of us to take care of him financially!
  • ~ No! It was NOT Okay for Stewart Traill to convince us that "it was God's will" for us to give over all the money we earned!
  • ~ No! It was NOT Okay for Stewart Traill to convince us that he was worthy of all the blessings and we were unworthy slaves to his various interests and desires!
  • ~ No! It was NOT Okay for Stewart Traill to use us to finance his luxurious homes, while we lived in near poverty!
  • ~ No! It was NOT Okay for Stewart Traill to flaunt what he was doing: frolicking on the beach with his wife on a slide projector in front of all of us, in the name of provoking us to "be zealous" so we could get what he had, while at the same exact time he proclaimed that for us to have relationships was "a fantasy" and likened to the sister's "dating" Mickey Mouse!
  • ~ No! It was NOT Okay for Stewart Traill to monopolize the strength and the occupation of every brother and sister of Cobu for his own interests!
  • ~ No~ It was NOT Okay for Stewart Traill to be "taken care of" by the "fellowship funds" and condemn we who were being responsible to every need the fellowship had and still has!
  • ~ No! It was NOT Okay for Stewart Traill to make us serve him for NOTHING!
  • ~ No! It was NOT Okay for Stewart Traill to take all of the money that we earned!
  • ~ No! It was NOT Okay for Stewart Traill to laugh at us in his heart while he took advantage of us!
  • ~ No! It was NOT Okay for Stewart Traill to oppress us to the point that we served him without question!)
  • It was impossible in Cobu not to cover our true needs and hurts with empty phrases that had no help in them.

Pro 26:18 Like a madman who throws firebrands, arrows, and death,
Pro 26:19 is the man who deceives his neighbor and says, "I am only joking!"

It was impossible for Stewart Traill to teach us about Jesus because he didn't know anything about truth.

It was impossible for Stewart Traill to teach us about Jesus because he didn't know anything about grace.

It was impossible for Stewart Traill to teach us about Jesus because he didn't know anything about justice.

It was impossible for Stewart Traill to teach us about Jesus because he didn't know anything about goodness.

It was impossible for Stewart Traill to teach us about Jesus because he didn't know anything about mercy.

It was impossible for Stewart Traill to teach us about Jesus because he didn't know anything about faithfulness.

It was impossible for Stewart Traill to teach us about Jesus because he didn't know anything about the love of God.

It was impossible for Stewart Traill to teach us about Jesus because he didn't know anything about the goodness of God.

It was impossible for Stewart Traill to teach us about Jesus because he didn't know anything about the freedom that God extends to his people.

It was impossible for Stewart Traill to teach us about Jesus because he didn't know anything about the mercy that knowing God allows.

It was impossible for Stewart Traill to live by faith in the machine that Stewart Traill built, that made slaves of we who were called to freedom!

It was impossible for Stewart Traill to live by faith in the machine that Stewart Traill built, that made slaves of we who trusted a con-man!

It was impossible for Stewart Traill to live by faith in the machine that Stewart Traill built, that made slaves of we who trusted a deceiver!

It was impossible for Stewart Traill to live by faith in the machine that Stewart Traill built, that made slaves of we who trusted a destroyer!

It was impossible for Stewart Traill not to build himself up in our eyes, or make comments like, "Gayle is near perfect."

Ps 36:2 For he flatters himself in his own eyes that his iniquity cannot be found out and hated.

It was impossible for Stewart Traill not to be condemning to others, and making comments like, "When you hug her, you're just hugging Eve!" while he mocked a brother and sister in front of everyone just because they began a relationship!

It was impossible for Stewart Traill not to teach us that "Eve was the wrong woman." and that the sisters were "acting like Eve" or had "an Eve-spirit" when in truth we had God's own spirit.

It was impossible to do anything without someone else telling you that what you were doing was wrong.

It was impossible to have anything of your own without feeling false guilt that you should give it to the church or the poor.

It was impossible for grown men, who worked all day and into the night, and not only turned over everything they made to "the church" but didn't even feel comfortable keeping their tips either!

It was impossible for the grown men to even recognize how poorly we lived in comparison to the homes that we would go in to clean their carpets.

It was impossible for the grown men to even recognize how Stewart Traill, who lived like the ones we were cleaning or giving estimates to, were "into the comforts of this world!"

It was impossible for the grown men and woman to recognize that Stewart Traill, who lived like the ones we were cleaning, were "hoping in this life" and got us to talk ourselves out of what he himself had grasped and obtained from the funds we earned!

It was impossible for the grown men and woman of Cobu to recognize how utterly conned we were by Stewart Traill's deception.

It was impossible to seek the Lord as the answer to your struggles or problems because if the answer was different than the current "Cobu tradition" it was confusing or had to be rejected.

It was impossible to have a mind of your own.

It was impossible not to put on the mind of Cobu, which was really the mind of Stewart Traill.

Rom 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may prove what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

(In Cobu we learned from Stewart Traill what was "acceptable" even if "his doctrines" completely contradicted the doctrines of God in the Bible.)

It was impossible not to mock each other because that was what we learned from Stewart Traill at "our meetings!"

It was impossible not to see that those who were "rescued" into our orphanage in Haiti, were actually led down the same roads of solemn assembly and servitude that we were conned into.

It was impossible to have your own thoughts on a subject without having it be siphoned through the filter of the teachings of Stewart Traill.

It was impossible to have any confidence about anything that was contrary to the latest Cobu teaching or "Stewart accepted" principle.

It was impossible to tell Stewart Traill what you really thought of him.

It was impossible to question Stewart Traill in your own mind without feeling guilty.

It was impossible to share your concerns about Stewart Traill's possible wrong doing, without fear that those you shared it with would condemn you for thinking that way.

It was impossible to try and have a relationship without everyone trying to break you up.

It was impossible to have worldly interests without being made to feel bad.

It was impossible to have an interests in sports without being made to feel bad.

It was impossible to own a television set in Cobu, because Stewart Traill didn't want us to get any "ideas" that he couldn't control, so we were convinced that watching T.V. was "worldly."

It was impossible to give your own children toys in Cobu.

It was impossible for the children in Cobu to get their parents to give them quality time with them.

It was impossible to enjoy any types of food or sweets without being made to feel guilty.

It was impossible to have any enjoyment of the normal blessings of life.

    Ecc 2:24 There is nothing better for a man than that he should eat and drink and find enjoyment in his toil. This also, I saw, is from the hand of God;
Ecc 2:25 for apart from him who can eat or who can have enjoyment?

It was impossible in Cobu to openly enjoy anything.

It was impossible in Cobu to laugh without "feeling bad for doing it" because Stewart Traill said that laughter was levity.

Eph 5:4 Let there be no filthiness, nor silly talk, nor levity, which are not fitting; but instead let there be thanksgiving.

(Stewart Traill, who claimed to be "a great bible teacher" was unable to even get the simplest bible concepts right. For example, this scripture that speaks about "not having levity" has nothing to do with there being "no laughter" as Stewart taught, especially since it's listed with "filthiness" and "silly talk.

The meaning in this scripture is about, as the definition states: that we shouldn't make light of a serious matter.

The problem was that Stewart turned everything into "a heavy" "serious" matter ~ what it did in effect was turn the fellowship into a dour and solemn assembly. but he only treated "seriously" his own interests, but actual "serious issues" were treated lightly!

Once a sister was having "serious complications of childbirth" and the sister who was with her called Gayle Traill for support, and Gayle suggested she "read her a lamb lesson!" That was the best "she who was considered perfect by Stewart" could come up with!)

[def. levity - humor or frivolity, especially the treatment of a serious matter with humor or in a manner lacking due respect.]

Is 5:20 Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!

It was impossible to laugh with joy, we were only allowed to laugh with a mocking spirit, which was actually the "levity" that the scripture counseled against!

    Ps 35:15 But at my stumbling they gathered in glee, they gathered together against me; cripples whom I knew not slandered me without ceasing;

(Stewart Traill taught that it was "wrong to laugh" but it was okay to "mock, slander, and jeer at others in a hurtful way, and got the group to join him in his bad example.)

It was impossible give or receive a complement, because Stewart Traill taught that it was flattery.

It was impossible to enjoy or celebrate even the birth of a child!

It was impossible to react with joy in the things that mattered to our hearts, because they "didn't matter" to Stewart Traill's heart.

It was impossible for anyone to have any natural enjoyment without someone pointing out that it seemed like we were "into something wrong" or being asked, "What are you into?" in an accusatory tone.

It was impossible for anyone in Cobu not to feel guilty all the time.

It was impossible to have any confidence in the things we were thinking, so that many had to seek out the opinion of someone else, to see if something was right or wrong.

It was impossible to have the joy of the Holy Spirit, because that was too close to "levity."

It was impossible to see that Stewart Traill made Christianity feel like a prison sentence.

It was impossible to express your thoughts without fear of being scolded.

It was impossible not to be oppressed for the simplest things.

It was impossible not to be "come down on" for a word!

Is 29:21 who by a word make a man out to be an offender, and lay a snare for him who reproves in the gate, and with an empty plea turn aside him who is in the right.

(One sister answered the phone and said, "Hello!" and the "heavy older brother" who was calling, cut her down to shreds, saying "Is that the way you answer the phone!" Just because she didn't give the "Christian Brothers" announcement! Of course he didn't give her any time to give her greeting either!)

It was impossible not to always be in fear of being accused of wrongdoing.

It was impossible to have any sense of comfort, peace, joy, or the blessings of God that every Christian should be able to feel.

1Co 9:7 Who serves as a soldier at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard without eating any of its fruit? Who tends a flock without getting some of the milk?
Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
Mk 12:33 and to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the strength, and to love one's neighbor as oneself, is much more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices."
Jn 13:34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
Jn 15:12 "This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
Jn 15:17 This I command you, to love one another.
Rm 12:10 love one another with brotherly affection; outdo one another in showing honor.
Rm 13:8 Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.
    1Th 4:9 But concerning love of the brethren you have no need to have any one write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love one another;
1Pe 1:22 Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere love of the brethren, love one another earnestly from the heart.
1Jn 3:11 For this is the message which you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another,
1Jn 3:23 And this is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he has commanded us.
1Jn 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another; for love is of God, and he who loves is born of God and knows God.
1Jn 4:11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
1Jn 4:12 No man has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.
2Jn 1:5 And now I beg you, lady, not as though I were writing you a new commandment, but the one we have had from the beginning, that we love one another.

It was impossible to understand what it meant to "love one another" in Cobu by Stewart Traill's example of openly being unkind, harsh, overbearing, condescending, provoking, irritating, while getting everyone to believe that "he was above reproach" and "honorable" when in truth he is despicable, ill-mannered, wretched, and one who we should not even associate with according to the counsel found in the Book of Ephesians:

Eph 5:1 Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children.
Eph 5:2 And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
Eph 5:3 But fornication and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is fitting among saints.
Eph 5:4 Let there be no filthiness, nor silly talk, nor levity, which are not fitting; but instead let there be thanksgiving.
Eph 5:5 Be sure of this, that no fornicator or impure man, or one who is covetous (that is, an idolater), has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
Eph 5:6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for it is because of these things that the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.
Eph 5:7 Therefore do not associate with them,
Eph 5:8 for once you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of light
Eph 5:9 (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true),
Eph 5:10 and try to learn what is pleasing to the Lord.
Eph 5:11 Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them
    Eph 5:12 For it is a shame even to speak of the things that they do in secret;
Eph 5:13 but when anything is exposed by the light it becomes visible, for anything that becomes visible is light.

It was impossible to experience any kind of acceptance.

It was impossible to accept oneself.

It was impossible to accept each other.

It was impossible to extend acceptance.

It was impossible to receive acceptance from others.

It was impossible not to be on pins and needles constantly.

It was impossible to have peace of mind when being pulled in so many different directions by all the expectations of Stewart Traill and Cobu.

It was impossible to extend your support to someone, because you feared being accused of wrongdoing.

It was impossible to have nice things.

It was impossible to have nice clothes.

It was impossible to get a good nights rest.

Ps 127:2 It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep.

It was impossible to get to bed at a decent hour.

Mt 23:4 They bind heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with their finger.

It was impossible not to have anxiety while living in Cobu.

Php 4:6 Have no anxiety about anything...

It was impossible to have "life" in the church of suspicious doubt!

It was impossible to be in Cobu and not be pointing the finger constantly, at yourself and everyone else.

Isa 58:9 Then you shall call, and the LORD will answer; you shall cry, and he will say, Here I am. "If you take away from the midst of you the yoke, the pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness,

It was impossible to have true fellowship in the Holy Spirit, because in Cobu we were all baptized into Stewart Traill and believed everything he impressed upon us.

It was impossible to have a sense of "doing right" when everyone was accused of "being wrong."

It was impossible for those who "had the benefit of marriage" (not too many of them) to actually be able to enjoy it, because they were usually too exhausted.

It was impossible for those who "had the benefit of marriage" (not too many of them) to actually be able to enjoy it, because they were always made to feel guilty.

It was impossible to have a sense of the saving power of God, when we were completely overcome by the power of Stewart Traill's influence.

It was impossible for us to see Stewart Traill for the thief that he was and we were all compelled to do his bidding.

It was impossible for us to break free from the bondage to all of Stewart Traill's whims.

It was impossible for us to see that when we cut each other down that we were also cutting Jesus down.

Mt 5:19 Whoever then relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Mt 25:40 And the King will answer them, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me.'
Mt 25:45 Then he will answer them, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it not to one of the least of these, you did it not to me.'

(As Stewart Traill did to the least of us, that's the way he treats Jesus.)

(The Bible teaches that a thief should be hated, yet we did not hate Stewart Traill, who acted as a thief to us!)

(The Bible teaches that a thief should not be rewarded, yet didn't we reward Stewart Traill with good, while he treated us with contempt and offered us up to misfortune.)

(He who withheld the blessings of God, because he "missed Grace" who is Jesus, had no ability to offer us the riches of God, because he didn't have them.)

It was impossible for us to see how completely duped we were!

Some left the church and claimed that they were not tainted by his falsehood: Not possible!

Some who have left say, Just move on! claiming that it's a very easy thing to do: A chief impossibility of Cobu!

Some who have left say that they 'got over that whole thing long ago', implying that it wasn't very hard at all. Impossible! in or out Cobu.

Some who have left cannot speak of the horrible things that they suffered, but are hoping against hope that it is all over and done with. Another grave mistake and impossibility of Cobu.

Many are angry and scared about the injustices of the past, hoping that it will all just go away: A grievous impossibility of Cobu.
